This is the classic comedy of mistaken identity as you've never seen it before. To escape from his mundane country life, 'Jack' - played by the dashing Colin Firth, assumes the alter ego of "Ernest" - running off to the excitement of the city. There, rather unexpectedly, he falls for Gwendolen, played by Frances O'Connor. But Gwendolen's mother Lady Bracknell - portrayed by Academy Award winner Judi Dench - has other plans for her daughter. In the meantime, Jacks best friend, 'Algy' - played by the handsome Rupert Everett, turns the tables on his friend and escapes to the country under the guise of "Ernest" to visit Jack's ravishing niece 'Cecily' played by Reese Witherspoon. This summer - deception is the name of the game!
