This hysterical rock driven comedy stars Jack Black as 'Dewey Finn' who is determined to take his rock band to the top. But instead of embracing Dewey, the band fires him. And to make matters worse, he's broke much to the distress of his roommate 'Ned Schneebly', played by screenwriter Mike White, and Ned's girlfriend portrayed by Sara Silverman. So when the phone rings for Ned, who works as a substitute teacher, Dewey, impersonating Ned, accepts a job from 'Principal Mullins' played by Joan Cusack. While Dewey might not have a clue how to teach, he does know how to inspire confidence in his young 5th graders, especially after overhearing them in orchestra class, as he turns these overachievers into high-voltage rock-and rollers.
