Fantasy collides with reality in this dangerously funny romantic comedy starring Renee Zellweger as 'Betty' - a small town waitress and devoted soap opera fan who thinks her TV heart-throb 'Dr. David Ravell' - played by Greg Kinnear is speaking directly to her. Betty's heart is all aflutter - until her no good husband comes home and she witnesses a shady deal go fatally awry - an event which pushes Betty over the edge - and onto the road in search of Dr. Ravell. Complicating Betty's life are 2 hit men - played by Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock who are desperately seeking the '97 Buick Betty 'borrowed' when she left town.
