Academy Award winner Kevin Costner stars as a respected Chicago physician whose wife - 'Emily' - a doctor herself played by Susanna Thompson, dies tragically during a medical mission in South America. Six months after her death - Emily's body has not been recovered and Joe, alone in their rambling house, is spooked when her treasured dragonfly paperweight crashes to the floor. His behavior becomes increasingly erratic after visiting one of Emily's former patients in the pediatric oncology ward, who claims he has seen Emily "inside a rainbow" and that she is trying to communicate with Joe. This is an extraordinary film that asks the question When we lose someone - are they lost forever?
